Manly got a pummeling from all sides in the last few days, but in true Fortress style, it will only make us stronger.
Hit Number 1
When we went to play our Saturday matches at our Nolans Reserve home ground, we discovered our pitches had been replaced by a gigantic lake!
No worries. We’ll just train at the beach.
Hit Number 2
Our trees got knocked down…
…our streets were deep in sand…
…our dunny was washed away…
…and our beautiful cafe…
…got trashed!
One of Manly’s favourite cafes is The Bower Restaurant close to Shelly Beach. In the storm the waves smashed in the windows, floated the furniture and got into all the electrical equipment. The only thing they still have working is a coffee machine.
So please help Hardy and the staff recover asap by going there and buying a coffee.
And let him know that Manly Brothers sent you.
Hit Number 3
Our team the Manly Sea Eagles has been getting a bit of a bashing recently in the press.
However, it has been innuendo and rumour with not too much revealed in the way of facts. So what happened to the presumption of innocence? Our players have been roasted before and then found that the beat up wasn’t justified.
So if you have something real then please put up. If not, be an Aussie, and give them a fair go!
You can show your support for our boys by being at the Brookie Fortress this Sunday (Sunday, 12 June, 4:00 pm). The club has a great offer for primary school children and their families:
Hit Number 4 – the biggest one of all
This will be going out instead of coming in when Steve Matai puts a tackle on Penrith, now that he has been case hardened by training with the Manly Brothers Under 9s!
World, we’re ready for you…
