2017 Season Report
During the early part of the year the white team struggled with numbers and a few of the boys from the Maroon team contributed to the early success so special thanks to: Will Farrar- Noah Ryland’s- Lucca Davis- Copper Fenn.
With the Network of friends and Parents we had great success with getting numbers and the team at this point really took off.
The whites took out the minor premiership with a solid year round performance and all players have steadily improved and became a great playing unit. All year they played and won most of the games and became the under 10 premiers. They played on only to lose the Grand Final against the Ferrets played at Harbord oval, but what a cracking year the under 10 Whites had.
All players’ skills developed during the year and the boys played for each other and by the end of the year we had a few subs on the benches at times. When we were short some boys came in when they were sick to make up the numbers on the field, at one point in a game we had to keep changing the boys over every 5 minutes as that’s the most they could handle. Mateship and the team playing attitude was most visible on this day.
What impressed all the coaches and managers was their ability to give it their best on the day even when the referees calls clearly went against them, they dusted themselves off tried again giving it 100%.
The players contributed to the team in different ways with a broad range of skills under coaches Garry, Jon and Damien, it was a pleasure being part of the team and we look forward to next year with the boys. They should be proud of their efforts this year, as I’m sure that the coaches and parents are of their efforts.
Big Thanks to Garry, Simon and Craig for helping out at training and game days.
